W. David Dunn is the founding partner and president of the Columbus, MS law firm of Dunn, & Hemphill, P.A. His practice includes estate planning, asset protection planning, long-term care planning, elder law, probate and administration, special needs planning for the disabled, business formation, and school law.
He is admitted to practice before all Mississippi state and federal courts as well as the U.S. Court of Appeals for the 5th circuit.
Mr. Dunn received his B.A. (1970) and J.D. (1974) degrees from the University of Mississippi and has been practicing law for 35 years in Columbus and the North Mississippi area.
He is a member of the Mississippi Bar (member Estates and Trusts Section), the Lowndes County Bar Association, the National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys, the Academy of Special Needs Planners, the North Mississippi Planned Giving Council, the National Council of School Board Attorneys, and the Mississippi Council of School Board Attorneys of which he is past president.
Mr. Dunn served in the Marine Corps reserves from 1970-1974 and the Army reserves from 1974-1976.
Mr. Dunn is a frequent speaker on the subjects of estate planning, asset protection planning, special needs planning, elder law to attorneys, certified public accountants, nursing home directors, insurance agents, social workers, and at pre-retirement seminars of the Mississippi Public Employment Retirement System (PERS).
